Presentation by the Vice President of Dow Corning Corporation
Valparaiso University Law School Alumnus Cornell Boggs will be on campus to give a presentation on Friday, September 21, 2:00 p.m. ? 4:00 p.m., in the Stride Courtroom. Mr. Boggs is a Vice President at Dow Corning Corporation and its General Counsel and Corporate Secretary.
Mr. Boggs will? -
- talk about his own career path,
- offer advice to students seeking a career in corporate law, and
- offer other more general career advice.
After his presentation, Cornell Boggs will allow significant time for students to ask questions in groups and individually. Light refreshments will be served.
Cornell Boggs joined Dow Corning as senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary in 2012. In this role, Cornell is responsible to lead the company?s global Legal, Corporate Security, and Government Relations functions. Prior to joining Dow Corning, Cornell served as chief responsibility and ethics officer for MillerCoors, LLC.
During his 27-year career, Cornell served as chief legal officer and group vice president, Public Affairs, for Coors Brewing Company; and vice president and general counsel for Tyco Plastics and Adhesives, an operating division of Tyco International Ltd. He also worked in the corporate legal departments of Monsanto Company, Anheuser-Busch Companies, Inc. and Intel Corporation. He began his career as a judicial clerk for the Court of Appeals of Indiana, followed by an appointment in the Attorney General?s Honor Program, where he served as a trial attorney at the United States Department of Justice.
Cornell is a graduate of Valparaiso University and the Valparaiso University Law School. He currently serves on the board of directors of Valparaiso University and the Association of Corporate Counsel.
