PROFILE of the UNIVERSITY

ROLE of the POSITION
The Office of Online Education extends educational outreach and access of University courses, degree programs, and research opportunities to the local and global communities in an effort to serve a diverse population of students who prefer or need alternative methods of delivery.

The Assistant Director of Online Education is responsible for the daily operations and project management of work produced by a dedicated team of professionals engaged in producing hybrid and fully online courses. The position involves collaborating with the team in four primary areas: instructional art, instructional design, instructional application programming, and administrative services. The position will also work with faculty and academic administrators to plan, develop, and coordinate courses and programs. The Assistant Director is responsible for successful implementation of strategic initiatives into the unit's daily workflow process. Supervision of a creative and collaborative team of professionals in a positive manner is required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A graduate degree from a regionally accredited college or university
  • Three years of progressively responsible experience managing a group of professional staff
  • 5 years of experience working in higher education, preferably in an e-Learning environment.
  • Previous experience in project management, preferably in a learning organization.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum design, teaching and instruction.
  • Knowledge of management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
SALARY RANGE
Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions. Position is contingent upon funding.
