A 29-year-old man died Sunday night after being shot near the corner of St. Bernard Avenue and Henriette Delille Street, according to the New Orleans Police Department. Officers responded to the incident about 10:30 p.m. and found Lawrence Walker lying in the middle of the street.
Walker suffered multiple bullet wounds. Paramedics took him to a hospital, but doctors pronounced him dead there, said John Gagliano, the New Orleans coroner's chief investigator.
Authorities did not immediately release specifics on a motive or suspect in Walker's slaying. No other details were available early Monday.
